It looks like the supermarket “Life Ashiya Kurekawacho Store” along Hanamizuki Street in Kurekawacho will have its grand opening today, Saturday, August 31, from 9:30 a.m.! We stopped by the pre-opening yesterday, August 30!

↑ There were lots of bicycles parked in front of the store, and plenty of customers inside too.
↑ The building faces south, with the entrance on the west side (Hanamizuki Street side) and the exit on the east side.
Like the Hanshin Ashiya store, the interior is on the smaller side for a Life supermarket, but the aisles here felt a bit wider. They don’t carry a huge selection, but daily necessities like tissues and detergent are also available.
At the pre-opening, there were opening-sale items such as 40% off various Hokkaido Tokachi Kuro-ushi beef (crossbred) items (including steak cuts), whole cabbages for 99 yen (tax excluded), domestic young chicken thigh for 78 yen per 100g (tax excluded), Royal Bread for 98 yen (tax excluded), two-pack bundles of Schau Essen sausages for 298 yen (tax excluded), Bulgaria Yogurt 400g for 138 yen (tax excluded), and four-can sets of Sea Chicken tuna for 298 yen (tax excluded)!
↑ The parking lot will be closed during the opening period from August 30 to Sunday, September 1. They’ve apparently added extra bicycle parking during this period, so it may be best to come by bike or on foot.
↑ Parking will be free from Monday, September 2 through Sunday, September 8. From Monday the 9th onward, parking will be paid, but it looks like you can get 60 minutes free if you shop at Life on the same day.
There’s a typhoon coming today too, so if the rain and wind are strong, it’s probably better not to overdo it and go tomorrow or later. The opening period runs through September 1, and parking will stay free until the 8th after that too.
