I visited “Komeda’s Coffee Ashiya Laporte Branch,” which opened on August 22 near JR Ashiya Station!
Komeda is famous for its big portions of light meals and desserts, but they also had mini-size menu items that even people who aren’t confident they can eat that much can enjoy, so I ordered them.
Mini-Size Menu at “Komeda’s Coffee Ashiya Laporte Branch”

“Mini Sandwich (Toast)” 510 yen (tax included)
It’s just the right size for a small bite, but still comes with plenty of egg filling! It’s a menu item where you can still get that Komeda feel even when you think you might not be able to eat much.

↑ For my drink, I chose the nostalgic “Melon Soda” 580 yen (tax included)! The cream soda was tempting too, but I had dessert coming afterward…!

↑ This boot-shaped glass and the pack of bean snacks that comes with the drink really feel like “Komeda’s Coffee”!

↑ Here’s what the bean snacks inside the packet look like. Inside the white coating? are peanuts.

And of course, dessert was the “Mini Shiro-Noir” 590 yen (tax included)!
“Shiro-Noir” is Komeda’s signature original dessert, but if the regular size feels a bit too big, this mini size is the one I recommend!

↑ Even though it’s mini size, there’s plenty of soft-serve ice cream! It comes with a cherry on top too.

↑ Pour plenty of syrup over it…

↑ The combination of cold soft-serve ice cream and warm Danish pastry is irresistible!
With this mini × mini set, while I was eating I thought, “This is easy! Maybe I could’ve handled the larger size?” But after finishing, I was actually pretty full and thought, “No, this was just right…” That was Fuko, a small eater.
Menu at “Komeda’s Coffee Ashiya Laporte Branch”

↑ It’s a retro-style cafe where you can enjoy drinks like coffee and juice, light meals like sandwiches, and desserts such as Shiro-Noir and cakes.
Except for some menu items, drinks, light meals, cakes, and more are also available for takeout!

↑ Since it’s a chain that started in Nagoya, they have a service in the morning where you get a free morning set when you order a drink.
You can see the full menu on the official “Komeda’s Coffee” website.

↑ It opened on the 1st floor of “Laporte North Building,” along Yamate Kansen, about a 3-minute walk straight north from JR Ashiya Station!

↑ They have free Wi-Fi, power outlets for charging, table seating, and counter seats for solo customers, so I was able to relax comfortably.
