↑Located between the Hankyu Kobe Line and the JR Kobe Line, this is one of the neighborhoods on the eastern edge of Ashiya City, bordering Otani-cho in Nishinomiya City. Within the neighborhood, you’ll find places such as Abo Shinno-zuka Kofun and Ashiya Midori Kindergarten.

↑Then, at around 5:00 p.m. on August 16, a monkey appeared along a road in Sanjo-cho.
Here is a map of Sanjo-cho↓
↑This is one of the neighborhoods on the western edge of Ashiya City. It is a long, narrow north-south area that includes Sanjo Park and Sanjo Hachiman Shrine to the south, as well as Ashiya Municipal Yamate Junior High School and the Egeyama Ruins to the north. The nearest station is Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station.
Since it was spotted in Midorigaoka-cho and then Sanjo-cho, it seems the monkey crossed Ashiya City from east to west between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the 16th.
↑Monkeys had just been spotted in Sanjo-cho and Iwazono-cho on August 9 and 10 as well. After the 11th, there were apparently sightings in Nishinomiya City, Takarazuka City, and other areas, so perhaps it went east once and then came back west, or maybe a different monkey showed up…
Our sister site Nishinomiya Tsushin has reported on the monkey spotted in Nishinomiya City↓
