↑ She also represented Japan in the women’s 470 class at the previous Olympics in Tokyo!
According to an article by Jiji Press News, she is originally from Hiroshima Prefecture and discovered sailing after enrolling at Ken-Ashi. There is also a funny story about how, when she traveled to Tokyo for the Inter-High School Championships in her senior year, she somehow brought back a cake from Ashiya as a souvenir (laughs). We wonder which cake shop it was from!
