It looks like French restaurant “Le coin” will open on Wednesday, August 7 in the Ashiya Yamate Sun Mall shopping street near Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station!

↑ A post from the official Instagram account of “Le Tréfle,” the restaurant previously run by the owner.
“Le Tréfle” operated in Rokkomichi, Kobe, for four and a half years as a restaurant specializing in natural wine and carefully selected ingredients. It reportedly closed at the end of 2022, much to the disappointment of its customers.

↑ The exterior of the future “Le coin” location. It appears to be opening behind the shutter on the far right, where a shop called “幸屋” used to be.

The address is 1-1 Nishiyamacho, Ashiya, Hyogo.
What’s Around “Le coin”

↑ Heading this way (west), you’ll find “御菓子司 杵屋,” “日本料理 颯輝,” “ehre hair,” “丸善美容院,” and “炭火焼鳥 八光屋,” among others.

↑ In the opposite direction (east), next door is “芦屋川手話cafe & BAR〈Knot〉” (the Turkish restaurant “サクルエブ” used to operate there and is now preparing to relocate). Farther along are “広東料理 三十番,” “カフェ ブラディーポ,” and “The Clapham Inn,” before reaching Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station.

↑ Across the street is “浄土宗 安楽寺.”
In Closing
We’re curious to see what kind of French restaurant it will be, as well as what will be on the menu and how much it will cost. Ashiya has plenty of French restaurants, but surprisingly, there doesn’t seem to have been one in the Ashiya Yamate Sun Mall shopping street—at least not recently. We can’t wait for it to open!
