I visited Pavé Artisan Ashiya Main Store, a specialty shop for gluten-free sweets made with rice, located about a 5-minute walk from JR Ashiya Station.

They recommend warming both for 10 to 15 seconds in the microwave, or about 2 minutes in a toaster oven.
This time, I warmed them in the microwave for about 15 seconds.
The rice scone is crispy and fragrant on the outside! It has framboise jam inside.
The crumbly texture as it falls apart in your mouth felt almost the same as a scone made with wheat flour.
If you ate it without knowing, you probably wouldn’t realize it was made with rice flour.
The rice canelé is super crisp on the outside! It’s topped with La France pear compote.
The inside has a texture somewhere between chewy and sticky. My impression was that it’s a little chewier than a wheat-flour canelé.
