Laporte East Building (Oharacho)

At “Laporte East Building” in front of JR Ashiya Station, an event called “Tanabata Street 2024” is being held, where visitors can write their wishes on tanzaku strips and hang them up. After the display ends, the tanzaku will apparently be dedicated to Ashiya Shrine.
Tanzaku writing period: June 22 to July 14 (Sun.)
Display period: June 22 to July 31 (Wed.)

Uchide Tenjinsha Shrine (Kasugacho)

At “Uchide Tenjinsha Shrine” near Hanshin Uchide Station, Tanabata bamboo decorations are put up in front of the main shrine every year around this time, and visitors can write wishes on tanzaku strips.

At “Kasuga Park” in Kasugacho, from 16:00 to 19:00 on July 6 (Sat.) and from 9:00 to 12:00 on July 7 (Sun.), visitors can write wishes on tanzaku strips and make origami decorations to hang up. There also seems to be a snack gift for those who try the Tanabata quiz. Those who would like one may also receive a small bamboo branch.

In the entrance hall of the “Ashiya City Health and Welfare Center” in Kuregawacho, bamboo branches and tanzaku strips will be available from June 26 to July 7, so visitors can write and hang up their wishes.

At “Narihira Chibikko Hiroba” in Narihiracho, from 13:30 to 15:30 on July 7 (Sun.), visitors can write wishes on tanzaku strips and hang them up, and there will also be drinks and snacks given out! The tanzaku are scheduled to remain on display until the 10th.

At Nishikura Meeting Hall in Nishikuracho, a Tanabata Festival will apparently be held from 13:00 to 15:00 on July 7 (Sun.). The first 100 visitors can write tanzaku, and there will also be a bazaar and festival stalls for 100 yen per try.
