It looks like an unveiling procession commemorating the renaming of the “Seido Danjiri” to the “Nakanocho Danjiri” will be held on Sunday, July 14!

As of April 1 this year, the float was reportedly renamed after a district of the former Ashiya Village dating back to the medieval period, bringing it in line with the danjiri floats of the other neighborhoods affiliated with Ashiya Shrine.
“Nakanocho (Naka-Ashiya)” was apparently the name of a settlement located on the east bank of the Ashiya River, between the Saigoku Kaido (National Route 2) and Hama Kaido (National Route 43).
On the day of the unveiling procession, the float is scheduled to depart from Omasu Park at 8:00 a.m., visit Ashiya Shrine, then travel through K Kokocho, Omasucho, Chayanomachi, and Seidocho before heading to Yokocho in the evening!

↑ It is surprising that the Seido Danjiri—the same float that Mayor Takashima rode during last year’s danjiri parade—has been renamed this year. Its lanterns and costumes may be getting a makeover for the unveiling too! Danjiri fans won’t want to miss this!
