Near JR Ashiya Station, along Ekimae-dori Street, the Jizo statue located at the back of the rotary between “Alpa Ashiya” and “La Rive Ashiya” is reportedly scheduled to be “closed” by the end of July.

↑There was also a notice posted titled “Background and Request Regarding the Jizo Closure.” Anyone who may be able to help care for the Jizo statue going forward is asked to contact Mr. Kanaoka of the Infrastructure Development Section, Urban Infrastructure Office, Urban Policy Department, Ashiya City, by Friday, June 14, at 0797-38-2116.
↑There were also messages of gratitude to the Jizo statue and notes seeking volunteers to help continue its care. It seems to be a Jizo statue that is beloved by the local community.
↑Immediately to the east is the “Daiichi Kosenkyo” pedestrian bridge, which crosses over the JR Kobe Line tracks. This bridge is scheduled to be closed for removal around August, and it appears that the “Jizo closure” was planned in connection with the removal work.
