It looks like the “60th Ashiya Mountain Festival” will be held at “Okuike Asobi no Hiroba” in Okuike Minamimachi on Sunday, May 12, from 11:00 to 14:30! ※Canceled in case of rain, with updates planned on the website

There will be lots to enjoy, including a sports experience zone with putter golf, mölkky, running lessons, and more (free to join), a “mountain girl / mountain boy” fashion photo spot (with participation prizes), a kitchen car zone bringing together five food trucks from Ashiya, a BBQ zone (reservation required, paid), and more!
The opening at 11:00 will include remarks from Mayor Takashima, and Hyogo Prefecture’s mascot character “Habatan” is apparently coming too.
On the day of the event, there will be a hike departing from in front of Yamate Yume Nursery School in Higashi-Ashiyacho (pictured above; no registration required), and there will also be a free shuttle bus from JR Ashiya Station. It’s a tough choice: get a good workout from the morning with the hike, or take it easy on the bus and enjoy plenty of sports activities once you arrive.
