“Uchibun” — the nickname for Uchide Park, Uchide Education and Culture Center, and the Uchide Branch Library — has officially had its naming rights partner decided: JCR Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. And from May 1, the nickname became “Uchibun”~! (Wait, what does that mean?)
Quoted from the official Ashiya City website
So, basically…
- From April 1, Uchide Park, Uchide Education and Culture Center, and the Uchide Branch Library were renewed as a set of three facilities
- After the renewal, the three facilities together were given the nickname “Uchibun”
- Separately from that, Ashiya City had been looking for a naming rights partner for Uchide Park, Uchide Education and Culture Center, and the Uchide Branch Library
- Becoming the naming rights partner costs 2 million yen per year (tax not included) for about five years
- So normally, when a company becomes a naming rights partner, it uses its company name, product name, or brand name as the nickname
- This time, JCR Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd., which became the naming rights partner for “Uchibun,” said it would pay the naming rights fee but keep the already-decided nickname “Uchibun” as is! (In other words, it’s basically like donating 2 million yen a year for five years)
That seems to be what happened~!

↑ JCR Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. was founded in 1975 and is a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Kasugacho near Hanshin Uchide Station.

↑ The building along National Route 2 in Kusunokicho with a Welcia on the first floor is also a JCR Pharmaceuticals building, and you can spot what look like several other office signs around the Uchide area too~.
It seems like a company with a seriously strong sense of “Uchide love,” so maybe that’s why it can casually put up 2 million yen per year for about five years, totaling around 10 million yen, for “Uchibun”…? Still, being OK with keeping the name exactly as it is shows an incredible amount of love~!

↑ The naming ceremony photos were also taken in various spots inside “Uchibun,” and you can really feel the love for the place!

With the renewal, “Uchibun” also introduced the cute monkey × Uchide no Kozuchi character “Uchimon.” Hopefully it will continue to become an even more beloved place for local residents!
