Near Hanshin Uchide Station, the elevator at the Wakamiya Pedestrian Bridge over National Route 43 was up and running〜
(Thanks to Ma-kun and okd for the tip!!)

↑This is the south side of Wakamiya Pedestrian Bridge. There are still fences up, so it looks like the barrier-free construction isn’t completely finished yet, but the elevator is operating.
Here’s the map↓
The address is between 5 Wakamiya-cho and 2 Hama-cho, Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

↑This is what the north side looks like. There’s a sign telling cyclists to use the nearby pedestrian crossing instead of the pedestrian bridge.

↑Operating hours are 5:00 to 22:00.

↑A brand-new silver elevator. Looks cool〜

↑There’s also a security camera inside…

↑And this monitor lets you see inside from the outside! That’s reassuring〜

↑We tried riding it right away! There’s a mirror near the ceiling inside the elevator〜

↑It was a walk-through elevator with doors on both sides. You exit from a different door than the one you entered through, so it might be a little surprising if you’re not used to it〜

↑For people who can’t climb stairs due to physical disabilities or other reasons, elevators are really important!

↑It seems there was a design change during construction regarding where the elevator would be installed, and because of that, part of the ramp on the south side has been removed. It looks like construction will continue around this area for a while〜
The work started around October two years ago and was originally scheduled to finish by November last year, so the construction period ended up being extended quite a bit. Still, it’s great that a clean, safe elevator is finally available to use!
Ma-kun and okd, thank you for the information!!
