Near Konan-Yamate Station, along Yamate Kansen, we enjoyed plenty of tea and sweets at Thé coloré, a tea specialty shop currently in pre-opening and scheduled for its grand opening on Saturday, March 9!
Thé coloré’s “Butter Galette Set with Earl Grey Sauce”
“Butter Galette Set with Earl Grey Sauce” 1,800 yen (tax included)
This set comes with a galette, top-up tea, and tea affogato. The galette on its own is 980 yen (tax included).
↑ This is a galette made with original batter mixed with Yamada Nishiki sake rice and Tanba black soybeans. It’s topped with homemade Earl Grey sauce.
↑ It also comes with unsweetened whipped cream and a lightly salted butter on top.
↑ The fragrant Earl Grey sauce, not too sweet, soaks right into the thin, toasty galette batter!
↑ Overall, the sweetness is restrained, and it feels just right when enjoyed with a sweet-scented flavored tea. I thought, “Isn’t this exactly the kind of sweet made for enjoying tea!?”
↑ It normally comes with tea affogato, but unfortunately it was sold out! Instead, I had a sweet iced milk tea called “Chocolat Berry”. Honestly, this was a nice treat too♪
↑ At the start, I also received “Fresh Berry” iced tea as a welcome tea! The berry aroma was so refreshing.
↑ The set also includes “top-up tea,” where the staff keep pouring their recommended teas for you (you can’t choose the types, but it’s all-you-can-drink)! This might actually be the main attraction!
↑ The first cup was “Caramel Nuts” flavored tea. That sweet aroma was so soothing.
↑ The second cup was “Orange Fruit Garden”. The refreshing orange aroma went perfectly with the Earl Grey sauce.
↑ The third cup was “Milkish Creme”, with notes of caramel and orange. The mix of sweetness and freshness was pure happiness♪
↑ The fourth cup was the jewel tea “Champagne Oolong”, based on Dong Ding oolong tea and blended with rose, jasmine, and hibiscus. Its beautiful pink color, hibiscus tartness, and rose aroma made it really distinctive!
↑ Finally, I finished with the highly aromatic “English Rose” flavored tea!
Including the welcome tea, I ended up having seven different kinds of tea! My stomach couldn’t handle any more, haha.
With sweets and plenty of different teas to enjoy, it was an irresistible time for any tea lover♪
↑ Maybe because they were still in pre-opening, I even received a gift of sweets and tea bags on my way out! These banana chocolate chips were so snackable, I couldn’t stop eating them!

↑ For lunch, they had items like original galettes mixed with Yamada Nishiki and Tanba black soybean kinako, meat pies with doteyaki, and curry.

↑ For tea, they reportedly carry more than 20 varieties, including flavored teas, black teas, and herbal teas from “amsu tea”.
The lunch and sweets sets come with “top-up tea,” where the staff keep pouring their recommended teas one after another (in other words, you can’t choose the types, but it’s all-you-can-drink), so you can really enjoy plenty of tea!
