It looks like a “Tyrannosaurus Race,” where participants run while wearing Tyrannosaurus costumes, will be held from 10:00 on Sunday, April 21 at Ashiya City Sports Park in Yokocho, in the Minami-Ashiyahama area〜!! ※Canceled in case of rain
Quoted from the Ashiya City Sports Park official event page
There’s no age limit, but it seems that being able to purchase a Tyrannosaurus costume in advance is a requirement for joining. They seem to be sold on Amazon and Rakuten too, so once you sign up, you’ll want to order one early〜

So, what exactly is a Tyrannosaurus Race?
A Tyrannosaurus Race is a race where people run wearing dinosaur costumes like the ones above. Apparently, it first started in the United States?〜
↑In Japan, it was first held in Daisen Town, Tottori Prefecture in 2022, and since then it seems to have been held in all kinds of places around the country.
↑It looks like they also held one at the Yodogawa River in Osaka last May〜 Looks fun!
Finally
There are probably quite a few people who have seen these races happening around the country on the news or social media and thought, “I want to try that!” Since opportunities to join one in Ashiya probably don’t come around very often, don’t forget that applications are first-come, first-served!
