Around noon yesterday, December 12, it seems there was a whale in the sea somewhere between Ashiya City and Nishinomiya City!

It’s between Ashiyahama and Nishinomiyahama, around south of the Bayshore Route.
↑In this photo you can see a large apartment building, and it seems to have been somewhere around the opposite side from there.
By the way, this whale sighting was also posted on X. Maybe there were other witnesses too? People who like fishing might have seen it.

↑Kobe Shimbun NEXT also ran an article about it! It seems the whale had been spotted around 8 a.m. near the northeast side of Rokko Island in Higashinada Ward, Kobe City!
It kind of seems like it’s been moving farther and farther northeast, but it’s worrying that it wandered so close to the coast. Hope it safely makes its way back offshore!
