Near Hanshin Ashiya Station, at “川西運動場” and the “芦屋市青少年センター” in Kawanishi-cho, the “FY2023 Comprehensive Disaster Preparedness Drill” will apparently be held on Sunday, January 21, from 9:30 to 12:30〜!

It’s a free-to-join event where you can have fun learning about staying safe at home and life at evacuation shelters through hands-on activities themed around evacuating during disasters! *Same-day numbered tickets are required for some activities only.

At 川西運動場, there will be vehicle displays including fire trucks and disaster response vehicles (canceled in case of rain), training on how to use fire extinguishers and disaster prevention storage equipment, collapsed-house rescue training, disaster-prevention cooking (seafood paella and spicy dry curry), a sandbag-making experience, and more〜

At Ashiya Municipal Gymnasium and Youth Center, there will be a workshop to make snack pouches useful for emergency stockpiling, activities where you can learn about sheltering at home and disaster preparedness for apartment buildings, exhibits explaining how earthquakes and tsunamis occur, evacuation shelter experience missions, CPR and AED training, a tsunami disaster prevention information map display, and an “EV vehicle” exhibit where you can try charging with a generator, and more〜
There are also plans to hold a “Bousai Rally,” where you can collect keywords to receive disaster prevention goods, as well as a survey where respondents can receive “alpha rice”! *Available while supplies last.
Take this opportunity to prepare for “what if” situations by learning about disaster prevention through proper training〜!!
