The cake shop “Shinno-kan” in Shinnozuka-cho will apparently be closing on Monday, December 25.

↑The exterior of “Shinno-kan.” A notice about the closure was posted above the display case inside the shop. It opened in Showa 52 (1977), making it a cake shop with 45 years of history.

↑Even now, the cakes are surprisingly affordable at around 300 yen each! The shop apparently used to operate as “Motomachi Cake,” and they also sell that famous “Zakuro” cake.

↑It’s on the first floor of a two-story building with a distinctive green roof, about a 10-minute walk east along the station-front street from JR Ashiya Station.

↑If you head this way (west), you’ll find places like “La Mole Ashiya” and “Lawson Ashiya Ekimae-dori,” leading to the area in front of JR Ashiya Station where the shopping malls “LaPorte” and “Mont et Mer” are located.

↑If you head the other way (east), you’ll find places like the pastry shop “DESTINATION”, and it leads toward Nishinomiya City and Shukugawa.
