A social experiment to install benches is currently underway along “Chaya Sakura-dori” in Chayanomachi〜
↑Benches have been added in places where there weren’t any before!
↑Warm-looking wooden benches. They were pretty comfortable to sit on, too〜
↑On the seat of each bench, there’s a QR code for a survey with the message: “What do you think about placing benches on Chaya Sakura-dori? Social experiment in progress!”

This social experiment is reportedly scheduled to run for four months, from November 2023 to February 2024. Based on the opinions and feedback collected through the survey by next February, they’ll decide whether to keep the benches or remove them〜
↑About 10 benches have been installed on the sidewalks on both the east and west sides, mainly toward the north end of Chaya Sakura-dori!
↑They’re placed pretty frequently around the area with lots of shops, which seems great if you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy takeout snacks or drinks〜
Personally, I think they’re convenient for taking a break during a walk or sorting out your shopping bags, so I’d love to see them stay. What do you Ashitsuu readers think? It might be nice to actually sit on one of the benches and think it over〜
（Added 12/22）↑We received an additional photo from the Ashiya AP Office! It looks like there are also benches diagonally across from Hazama ENT Clinic and around Chaya Nursery School. With so many benches, it’s really convenient〜
