We bought some koppepan from 岡本こっぺ・Lun, a shop specializing in koppepan located along National Route 2 near the border between Ashiya City and Kobe’s Higashinada Ward!

The beef croquette made with fluffy Danshaku potatoes goes perfectly with the egg salad and crisp lettuce!
It’s filling too, so it seems like a great lunch option.
“Age Koppe Cinnamon” 160 yen (tax included)
This is fried koppepan dusted with cinnamon sugar.
Simple, but nostalgic! It reminds me of food stalls at festivals.
It’s a fried bread that’s perfect for a snack.
Menu at 岡本こっぺ・Lun
Here is the basic koppepan menu.
Inside the shop, you’ll also find koppepan items posted on the wall, such as “Today’s Recommendation” and limited-time menu items, that aren’t listed on the menu outside.
The “Age Koppe” were lined up on the right side as you enter the shop, with three varieties: sugar, cinnamon, and kinako.
Shop Information for 岡本こっぺ・Lun
It’s on the north side of National Route 2, just east of Selva Konan Yamate, near the border between Ashiya City and Kobe City.
The address is in Kobe City, but Ashiya is probably only about 10 steps away, so it’s practically Ashiya.
You might wonder why the shop is called “Okamoto” even though it’s in Konan Yamate (almost Ashiya). Apparently, when it first opened in September 2016, it was located in Okamoto, and then moved to this location in March of last year.
They were also selling tin badges with cute koppepan illustrations.
