At Furyu Tagoto Soba Ashiya, located on the 3rd floor of the West Building of Mont et Mer, the shopping mall directly connected to JR Ashiya Station, people aged 70 and over can enjoy a free “Longevity Soba” on September 18 (national holiday), Respect for the Aged Day!

This annual event has been held for around 50 years. In recent years, publicity was reportedly kept to a minimum due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The offer is available at every location in the chain, so you can of course enjoy the free soba at the Ashiya location too!

↑ This is the “Komi Soba (Kawachi duck and mushrooms)” we tried at Furyu Tagoto Soba before. It featured five kinds of mushrooms, duck, and garland chrysanthemum in a satisfying yuzu-pepper-flavored broth!
If you are 70 or older—or have a family member who is—it sounds like a great idea to go shopping together at Mont et Mer on Respect for the Aged Day, then have soba for lunch in the West Building!
