A new coin-operated parking lot called “D Parking Ashiya City Narihira-cho No. 1” has opened along National Route 2, near JR Ashiya Station.
↑ Here’s how it looked before opening. It has since been confirmed open. There used to be a private house toward the back of this site.
↑ It’s open 24 hours, with rates set at 200 yen per 20 minutes all day. The maximum charge is 900 yen during the day (9:00〜19:00) and 300 yen at night (19:00〜9:00).
↑ Since it’s a sensor-based, lockless parking lot, there are no lock plates. However, you still need to pay at the payment machine before leaving.
↑ It’s properly monitored by security cameras. Unauthorized parking is a no-go.

↑ If you head this way (west), you’ll find places like “Baskin-Robbins Ashiya Roadside Store” and “Bigo no Mise Ashiya Main Store,” and farther ahead is Narihira Bridge, which crosses the Ashiya River.
↑ If you go the opposite way (east), you’ll find places like “Kagonoya Ashiya” and “Furin Ramen Ashiya.”

In Closing
“D Parking” is apparently an hourly parking lot brand planned, built, managed, and operated entirely by Daiwa Lease, part of the Daiwa House Group. Since it’s close to the station and located along Route 2, this seems like a spot where there would be plenty of demand for coin parking.
