At drugstores, supermarkets, and other shops around Ashiya City, the “Ashiya City Designated Garbage Bags,” which will be fully introduced starting this October, are now on sale! Ashiya Tsushin bought and compared all four available sizes.

It looks like they’re available at drugstores such as “Welcia,” “Daikoku Drug,” and “Matsumoto Kiyoshi,” supermarkets like “Co-op” and “Daiei,” and even the home improvement store “Kohnan”!
Comparing the four sizes of “Ashiya City Designated Garbage Bags”
The “Ashiya City Designated Garbage Bags” are sold in four sizes: 5L, 15L, 30L, and 45L.
This time, Ashitsu bought the 15L and 45L bags at the Ashiya City Hall shop, and the 5L and 30L bags at Matsumoto Kiyoshi Ashiya Mont et Mer.
↑ These two were bought at the City Hall shop. They’re manufactured by “Reiwa Pax” in Kato City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The bags are apparently made with at least 15% “Ecolo Master,” reducing the amount of plastic used and helping cut CO2 emissions during manufacturing and incineration.
↑ These two were bought at Matsumoto Kiyoshi. They’re manufactured in Indonesia and imported by “Nippon Sanipak Co., Ltd.”
They’re made with polyethylene blended with about 20% “natural limestone,” which reportedly reduces CO2 emissions during manufacturing and burning by about 20% compared with 100% polyethylene.
↑ Here are all four types lined up. They’re a bit hard to see because they’re translucent, but they’re arranged from largest to smallest, left to right.
↑ The two Reiwa Pax bags are a little whiter and seem less transparent.
↑ The two Nippon Sanipak bags are more transparent, so it looks like you’ll be able to see the contents quite clearly.

Comparing the garbage bags now on sale with the bags handed out at the “Ashiya Sakura Festival”
↑ We compared the “Ashiya City Designated Garbage Bags” currently sold at the City Hall shop with the sample 45L garbage bags that were handed out at the “Ashiya Sakura Festival”! They were made by the same “Reiwa Pax,” but the color is quite different.

↑ Here’s what it looks like with garbage inside the sample garbage bag handed out at the “Sakura Festival.” It is see-through, but you can tell it has a fairly whitish look. Maybe the specifications changed a little between the prototype and the final version.
Things to keep in mind when using “Ashiya City Designated Garbage Bags”
The “Ashiya City Designated Garbage Bags” can be used for both “burnable garbage” and “non-burnable garbage,” but you cannot put both types in the same bag! Be sure to separate burnable and non-burnable garbage into different bags.
↑ When putting out “non-burnable garbage,” make sure to check the box at the bottom of the bag before disposing of it! It might be a good idea to keep a permanent marker together with your garbage bags.
