Around 7:50 p.m. yesterday, July 15, a raccoon was apparently spotted on a street near Hamacho in Ashiya City!

↑It’s the area west of Hanshin Uchide Station, south across National Route 43.
↑There are several major roads, including Route 43 and the Inariyama Line, but the neighborhood itself is mainly residential and has parks too, so there seem to be plenty of places for raccoons to hide.
↑There are also many elementary schools near Hamacho, including Uchidehama Elementary School, Hamakaze Elementary School, and Miyagawa Elementary School, so children should definitely be warned to be careful!
Since last month, raccoons have been spotted around the western side of Ashiya City, including Fukae Kitamachi and Hiratamachi, but now one has appeared in the Uchide area…! It seems they may be living across a wide area of Ashiya City.

Raccoons can be dangerous if you approach them carelessly, as they may bite or scratch. If you encounter one, don’t provoke it and move away quickly!
