We had lunch at Polu cafe, a cafe that opened on July 6 along the Okuyama Seido Line in Kinmitsu-cho, near Hanshin Ashiya Station!
Polu cafe’s “Mochiko Chicken Plate”
Limited to 20 servings a day: “Mochiko Chicken Plate” 1,600 yen (tax included)
↑ This fried chicken plate is made with chicken breast that’s crisp on the outside, yet incredibly tender, moist, and juicy inside!
↑ It comes with homemade tartar sauce, lemon, and salt.
↑ Simple salt is great, but pairing it with the creamy homemade tartar sauce is also excellent.
↑ The side salad uses seasonal vegetables and is really generous in size!
↑ Under the leafy greens were carefully prepared vegetables, including grilled and marinated vegetables made with ayu fish sauce and pickles made with balsamic vinegar! This is not just a side salad; it’s good enough to be a dish on its own.
↑ The soup that day was a chilled potage made with two kinds of potatoes!
↑ When we lifted the spoon… it was incredibly rich! It was a special bowl with a mellow, almost cream-like flavor that spread through the mouth.

↑ For lunch, there is only one option, the “Mochiko Chicken Plate,” but drink sets and dessert sets are also available. The dessert menu includes a three-item dessert plate, cheesecake, chocolate cake, tarts, and more.

↑ It has opened on the first floor of the Lyric Ashiya apartment building along the Okuyama Seido Line, the road behind Ashiya Catholic Church. It is between the baked sweets shop Ashiya Tigue and the wagashi shop Ogurasansou.
↑ At the same location, it apparently operates as “Polu cafe” during the day and as the Italian restaurant “Osteria SaNWa” at night.
