It looks like a two-story “Asahi” store will be built on the former site of “TSUTAYA Shukugawa”, which was located along National Route 2, right near the city border between Nishinomiya and Ashiya.
↑ A sign showing the development project plan was posted on the construction wall. The project owner is “株式会社あさひ,” and the use is listed as a “store,” apparently with two floors.

“株式会社あさひ,” based in Miyakojima-ku, Osaka, operates bicycle retail chains such as “Cycle Base Asahi.” They also reportedly run specialty stores focused on different categories, including sports cycles and outlet & reused bicycles, so it will be interesting to see what kind of shop this location becomes.

↑ It’s on the north side of National Route 2, just east of the city border between Nishinomiya and Ashiya. To the left as you face it is “Jolly Pasta Ashiya.”
↑ If you head this way west, you’ll quickly enter Ashiya City. Nearby are the steak restaurant “Volks,” Kusunoki Children’s Park, McDonald’s, Welcia Ashiya Kusunoki, and more.
↑ Heading the opposite way east, you’ll find Soba Taikotei, Ringer Hut, Life supermarket, and then continue toward the Shukugawa area.

Final Thoughts
There is a bicycle shop called “Rinrin Ashiya” in Chayanomachi along Route 2, but it’s quite a distance away, so this should be convenient when you want to buy a bicycle along Route 2 in the Uchide and Shukugawa area. The construction period appears to run until around April next year, so the opening still seems to be a ways off, but we’re looking forward to it.
