We picked up some tuna sashimi and yukhoe from the tuna specialty shop “鮪の中央 芦屋営業所”, which opened on May 27 in Kasuga-cho in the Uchide area, along the Naruo-Mikage Line!

↑ This is tuna cheek meat, said to be a rare cut that’s hard to come by! It’s the kind of thing you’d expect from a specialty shop.
↑ You can eat it raw as sashimi just as it is.
↑ With just the right amount of fat and a pleasantly firm texture, it feels surprisingly meaty for fish and is really satisfying.
↑ The “Tuna Yukhoe” is sold already seasoned! Just open the pack and it’s ready to eat right away.
↑ The aroma of sesame oil really whets the appetite! I’d love to put this on rice and make a tuna yukhoe bowl!
Shop Information for “鮪の中央 芦屋営業所”
↑ This tuna specialty shop opened along the Naruo-Mikage Line, about a 5-minute walk east from Hanshin Uchide Station. Its main shop is located in the Osaka Central Wholesale Market, and it sells carefully selected tuna from the market.
↑ Inside the shop, there’s a large refrigerated display case right up front. The preparation area is in the back.
↑ There are big blocks of tuna that make it feel just like a market…

↑ They also have easy-to-use saku blocks, ready-to-eat sashimi, and seared tuna.
↑ The rare cuts introduced above, plus seasoned packs like namero and yukhoe, were lined up like this. They’re also thinking about offering items like sushi and tekkadon in the future.
↑ Besides eating it raw as sashimi, you can apparently enjoy it in all kinds of dishes, including shabu-shabu. You can also ask them for advice on which cut or slicing style would work best for the dish you’re making.
