We stopped by 金のおにぎり専門店 ぼんたぼんた JR芦屋店, which opened on Friday, July 1 inside Mont et Mer, the shopping mall directly connected to JR Ashiya Station, and tried an onigiri set!

Onigiri: “Flaked Sockeye Salmon” ¥240 (tax included), “Premium Sujiko Salmon Roe” ¥330 (tax included), plus Set A ¥420 (tax included)
Set A comes with three side dishes, aonori seaweed soup, and pickles.
For the onigiri, we chose the classic salmon and the more indulgent sujiko salmon roe!
↑ Whether you’re dining in or taking your order to go, you can have your onigiri made fresh! If you’re in a hurry, ready-made ones are also available.
↑ Of course, there’s plenty of filling inside too! The salty sujiko goes perfectly with freshly cooked rice!
↑ The salmon has such a comforting flavor! If you’re having it with side dishes, a familiar filling like this might be just the thing.
↑ The three side dishes that day were potato salad, karaage fried chicken, and some kind of simmered leafy greens.
↑ This potato salad is really distinctive, with a big mustard kick and pieces of sausage! It looks like you can buy it separately too. We’ll have to pick some up next time!
↑ The soup is miso soup with aonori and nori seaweed! It pairs perfectly with onigiri.

↑ It may be a little hard to spot behind the pillar, but its direct connection to the station makes it a very convenient location!
