At the 3rd-floor event space of Mont et Mer, the shopping mall directly connected to JR Ashiya Station, a limited-time “Hokkaido and Okinawa Product Fair” is being held for 14 days from Thursday, May 19 to Wednesday, June 1.

We tried some specialties from Hokkaido and Okinawa
↑We bought a few Hokkaido and Okinawa foods that were being sold at the fair!
“Potebata” (boiled potatoes with butter), 754 yen including tax
↑There are four individually vacuum-packed pieces inside.
↑You can warm them in hot water while still in the pack, or take them out, cover them with plastic wrap, and heat them in the microwave.
↑They’re fluffy and moist, with the butter soaked right in. So good! The portion is just right when you’re feeling a little hungry.
“Hanabatake Farm Mochips Nama Caramel,” 430 yen including tax
↑These are light, crispy okaki rice crackers infused with the famous nama caramel from Hanabatake Farm! They’re so light, you’ll find yourself eating a lot of them before you know it…!
“Chocotto.” 150 yen including tax
↑This is a sweet snack made by coating Okinawan brown sugar with cocoa powder! It’s properly sweet and feels like it gives your brain a boost. Perfect when you’re tired!
Final thoughts
It’s a small product fair, but it’s nice to be able to easily buy specialties from Hokkaido and Okinawa in Ashiya! The lineup mainly features snacks and retort-packaged foods, and they also had items like ikameshi and taco rice!
