I had lunch at the Italian restaurant “Baracca ASHIYA” near Chayanomachi and Chaya Sakura-dori!
Baracca ASHIYA’s Meat Lunch: “Tender Pork Belly B.B.Q.”
“Meat Lunch” 1,650 yen (tax included)
The menu said it was a set with “today’s choice of meat,” bread, and a drink… but it also came with a salad!
↑ On this day, there were two main dishes to choose from, and I went with the “Tender Pork Belly B.B.Q.”
↑ The meat really was melt-in-your-mouth tender! The mild mustard and BBQ sauce were, of course, a perfect match!
↑ The salad was a bean salad, and the bread included a baguette and… what is this…!?
↑ It turned out to be fried bread with a crispy outside, a wonderfully chewy inside, and plenty of aonori seaweed mixed in! I’d never had bread like this before…!
After looking it up, it seems to be a real Italian fried bread called “zeppoline” or “zeppole.”
I chose iced tea for my drink! At this time of year, having lunch out on the bright terrace feels great too.
