I went to “Washoku Samasama” on Chaya Sakura Street for a Japanese set lunch!

“Simmered Fish Lunch” 1,300 yen (tax included)
The set includes today’s simmered fish, two kinds of today’s appetizers, this month’s homemade manju, two kinds of pickles, soup made with homemade fish-bone broth, and five-grain rice from Kobe Ando Farm.
You can also choose the “Grilled Fish Lunch” for the same price!
The simmered fish that day was apparently the collar of “kosho-dai” and “yokowa tuna”! I’d never heard of either fish before…!
Fish collar can be tricky to eat, but it has so many flavors you don’t get from other parts, which makes it really interesting!
“This month’s homemade manju” was “burdock and carrot soy milk manju”!
It was served as fried dashi with a thick ankake sauce, so you could enjoy the crisp surface and chewy texture inside!
A small serving of ankake soba came as an appetizer! I’d been torn between the two, so I was happy to get this too!
The miso soup is made with broth taken from fish bones, and even the miso had a distinctive flavor I haven’t really had elsewhere. You can feel the care they put into it!
The healthy five-grain rice went so well with the simmered fish!
