We tried takeout from “Kandelica Ashiya Korean-tei,” a takeout-only Korean deli that celebrated its 1st anniversary on May 8!

You enjoy the crisp chives and chewy jeon batter with a tangy dipping sauce!
Neither the jeon nor the sauce is spicy, so it’s easy to eat.

The napa cabbage kimchi is refreshing and tastes just right when paired with other side dishes.
The dried squid kimchi was given to us by the shop as a 1st anniversary gift, and the more you chew the squid, the more flavor comes out. With the added heat, it becomes even more addictive!

Besides jeon and kimchi, you can take home authentic Korean dishes like bulgogi, yangnyeom chicken, japchae, and gimbap, Korean-style seaweed rice rolls!
The gimbap is rolled after you order, so you can enjoy it freshly made!

The Ashiya shop is on the 1st floor of Laporte East Building, directly connected to JR Ashiya Station, next to “Tempura Teishoku Makino.”
Apparently, on May 8, the same day the Ashiya shop celebrated its 1st anniversary, they also pre-opened a second location in Rokkomichi!
The Rokkomichi shop seems to be offering 20% off during its pre-opening period, so if you’re nearby, that might be worth checking out too.
