I had lunch at Ashiya Sumiya-an, an izakaya near Hanshin Ashiya Station known for its oden and nihachi soba!
Ashiya Sumiya-an’s “Sansai Soba Set Meal”
“Today’s Soba Set Meal: Sansai Soba Set Meal” 880 yen (tax included)
This is a daily soba set meal, and on this day it was “sansai soba”! The menu said it came as a set with hot or cold soba, a small side dish, and kayaku gohan, but it actually came with two small side dishes and pickles too!
↑ Soba topped with mountain vegetables, nameko mushrooms, tempura bits, and naruto fish cake!
↑ It got a little foggy from the steam, but let’s just call it a recreation of Fu-ko’s (glasses-wearer) view!
↑ The kayaku gohan was just the right size, which was nice!
