For the New Year’s shrine visit stamp rally “Ashiya Mutsumi no Miya Mode”, which takes you around six shrines in Ashiya City, the second shrine we visited was “Sanjo Hachiman Shrine” near Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station!

Inside the Grounds of Sanjo Hachiman Shrine

The enshrined deities are Yahatano Sumeokami, Oyama-zumi no Okami, and Itsukushima-hime no Okami. The shrine is said to offer blessings for warding off misfortune and bringing good luck, improving martial arts skills, success in life, and recovery from illness.

Final Thoughts
From “Tsuchi Hiyoshi Shrine,” you can get here by walking almost straight north, making it an easy shrine to include in a New Year’s shrine-hopping route! Even though it’s close to the station, the lush green grounds somehow feel like they must bring good fortune…!
