We’re visiting the six shrines in Ashiya for the New Year’s shrine visit stamp rally “Ashiya Mutsumi no Miya Mode”. First up, we stopped by “Tsuchi Hiyoshi Shrine” in Tsuchi-cho!

↑It’s a simple, charming shrine tucked away in a residential neighborhood.
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 6-9 Tsuchi-cho, Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Inside the Grounds of Tsuchi Hiyoshi Shrine

↑A stone monument explaining the shrine’s history
The enshrined deity is Oyamakui no Kami, and the shrine is said to offer blessings for household safety, family prosperity, protection of industry and production, traffic safety, and warding off illness.

↑There’s also a “heart-shaped tree” on the shrine grounds!

↑On both sides of the main shrine building, you’ll find monkeys, said to be messengers of the deity!

↑They’re wearing cute patterned masks, so infection prevention measures are fully covered!
The “Ashiya Mutsumi no Miya Mode” Stamp

↑The “Ashiya Mutsumi no Miya Mode” stamp was placed in front of the shrine office, on the right-hand side when facing the main shrine building.

↑A cute monkey stamp! So nice!
Wrapping Up
This shrine is in a residential area with few slopes, making it easy to stop by for a casual visit. The masked monkeys are adorable too!
We’ll be introducing the other five shrines in this series, so stay tuned!
