It looks like a new local media outlet dedicated to the Ashiya area, “あしやらへん,” launched in November!

They also distribute a free publication, and their first feature is apparently titled “芦屋川の濃人(こいびと)”—a playful phrase referring to the fascinating characters of Ashiyagawa.

It also seems to be available at stores around the city, including the bookstore “風文庫,” American pie shop “HONEY BUNNY,” fried-bread specialty shop “パイクとそら,” and the café “はるのうた.”

There’s something about the casual hiragana name “あしやらへん” that feels similar to “あしつー,” which makes us feel a certain kinship with them!
But the articles on their website are mostly in-depth interviews, and the photography has such a wonderful atmosphere! Compared with them, あしつー is a whole lot more laid-back, haha.
It looks like the kind of media outlet where you can discover a surprising side of a shop owner you see all the time—or find a wonderful shop you’ve never visited before!
