We got some popular canelés to go from the pastry shop “Terrasse Daniel” along the Ashiya River!
Canelés from “Terrasse Daniel”

From left: “Plain,” “Coconut,” “Citron,” and “Cacao” 130 yen each (tax included)

The “Plain” is the classic, standard canelé.
You can enjoy the contrast between the crisp outside and the chewy, dense inside.
They’re an elegant petite size, making them handy as a small gift too♪

The “Coconut” has plenty of crispy bits and a lovely toasted aroma! The coconut flavor isn’t overpowering, giving it a refined taste.

The “Citron” has a refreshing citrus flavor! It’s packed with citrus peel inside.

Not chocolate, but “Cacao”? That’s what I thought at first, but it has a bold, grown-up bitterness almost like coffee! This really is “cacao”!
I thought this would be a canelé I could recommend even to people who aren’t that into sweets.
