We got takeout from “Ashiya Purin,” located near Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station: a slightly unusual “pear” pudding and the popular “salted caramel” pudding!
Ashiya Purin’s “Pear” and “Salted Caramel”

Ashiya Purin “Pear” 594 yen (tax included)
Pear pudding is pretty rare, isn’t it?

The top layer is a Japanese pear jelly made with plenty of vanilla beans, and the bottom layer is custard pudding.

The crisp texture of the Japanese pear pairs beautifully with the rich, milky pudding! It’s a pudding you won’t find anywhere else!

Ashiya Purin “Salted Caramel” 594 yen (tax included)

On top of the rich custard pudding is a generous layer of bittersweet caramel sauce with just the right salty kick!

It’s incredibly rich! Yet it still has an elegant feel, with a perfectly balanced flavor. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular.
