The “Autumn Bread Festival” is being held through Tuesday, September 14 at the event space on the 3rd floor of “Mont et Mer,” the shopping mall directly connected to JR Ashiya Station.

Breads from shops you usually can’t buy from in Ashiya have gathered at Mont et Mer, including fruit sandwiches from Nara’s “ichibanya fruits cafe,” Danish bread from Kyoto’s “グランマーブル,” cream buns from “八天堂,” and bread from the France-born “PAUL”!

↑ It looks like limited daily breads are also being sold as the “Daily Bakery” through Sunday, 9/12〜
In addition to bread, they were also selling items that go perfectly with bread, such as jams from “Pâtisserie Sadaharu Aoki Paris” and “セルフィユ軽井沢”, as well as butter and olive oil!
Pretzels from the Pretzel Specialty Shop “Brezeria”

Since I was there, I picked up two kinds of pretzels from “ブレッツェリア,” one of the shops with lots of products lined up!

“Butter Pretzel” 370 yen (tax included)
A fragrant, chewy pretzel filled with butter!

It has cultured butter inside, and it’s great as is or toasted◎
The saltiness is just right, making it perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack!

“Pretzel Bagel” 240 yen (tax included)
A bagel-style super chewy pretzel! It’s coated with plenty of sesame seeds, making it even more fragrant〜
In Closing
I love chewy breads, so with this many bakeries gathered here that I usually can’t buy from, it’s hard to choose〜!
I’m also curious about the fruit sandwiches and donuts, so maybe I’ll go back and buy some for myself…? Since it’s directly connected to the station, it’s nice how easy it is to stop by!
