We picked up some British-style takeaway dishes from “The Clapham Inn,” a British gastropub in the Ashiya Yamate Sun Mall shopping street near Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station.

“Cottage pie” is a British meat pie made with mashed potatoes and minced meat.
They recommend heating it in the microwave (600W) for about 1.5 to 2 minutes before eating. It’s even tastier if you lightly crisp the surface in a toaster afterward.
Under the smooth mashed potatoes, there’s plenty of curry-flavored minced meat with vegetables. The flavor seems easy for kids to enjoy, too.
The special sausage roll (British-style sausage pie) has a handmade-style skinless sausage wrapped in pie pastry.
The sausage has a nice kick of spice, and it seems like it would go perfectly with beer!

During the state of emergency, they are open only on weekends and offering takeout only.
In addition to British dishes like fish and chips and Scotch eggs, they also have Dutch-style beef cream croquettes called “bitterballen” and cashew nut chicken curry!
