Just outside the ticket gates at JR Ashiya Station, the muffin specialty shop “PonPonMuffin” is open for a limited time until Friday, August 6, next to the temporary Awajiya bento shop.
“PonPonMuffin” also had a limited-time pop-up here from late June through July 1.

There are ten varieties again this time, including new flavors that weren’t available before, such as caramel, pineapple, apple, and lemon!
They’re made with odorless refined sesame oil instead of butter, which apparently keeps the muffins moist even the next day.
In Closing
This spot has previously hosted pop-up shops selling traditional Japanese sweets, focaccia pizza, and HIROTA cream puff ice cream. The return of these muffins may be a sign that they were a hit!
